Objective:
Waterfall City is part of the Netcare Group and is situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg in South Africa. Their core value is care – it is the basis of their business. The pride they take in the delivery of their special brand of compassionate and intimate care is unrivaled and this fact was at the core when designing and ideating the magical elements and graphics for the pediatric ward.
Waterfall City Hospital wanted a fun, interactive environment to form part of their children's ward.
Result:
In order to make the nurses and environment less daunting for the children in the ward, we broke away from the traditional nurses' station and common play area and created a whole new magical building block inspired design that encourages learning and play whilst forming part of the functional environment. The concept was further extended into the common play area, where functional items such as selves formed part of the wallpaper design, creating a seamless and friendly play area.
